Holy crap. 2 posts in 2 days. Hang on to your britches ladies and gents:
Hello! Yes I still have a blog! Yes my life has been hectic over the past… *goes to check when my last real post was* month! Sports and activities that required a pint glass in front of me have been taking up a lot of my time lately and I’m finally getting around to posting here. So if you don’t know who Vincent Chase is, well I’m sorry to hear that because he’s a character on one of my favorite shows of all time, Entourage. I mean from the insecurities of a superstar actor to all of the gorgeous women that grace the screen to all of the hot cars they drive to just imagining about what it would be like to have a best friend who’s a world renowned film actor. If I had to pick one character on the show that best exemplifies me or what I’d like to be, it’d have to be Eric. BUT, for this post, I went with Vinny Chase because of the hair… So here are some of the essentials of the Vinny Chase lifestyle:
Today I take a trip into something that has been marinating for much longer than necessary. I haven’t done a truly themed post since my Johnny Cash one, and I felt the need for one.
It’s dark and the moon is still shining, but I cannot sleep knowing what the day brings. I rise as silently as possible to not wake up my wife, Ocella, though I know she hears me keeping her eyes closed. My sword passed down to me from my father and his father before him rests inside of the sheath calm on the outside and ready for action on the inside. I push the hair back from Ocella’s face and hold it in my hand as I softly kiss her on the forehead enjoying every second of her beauty. This may be the last time I ever see her again. In the cradle and in a state of deep sleep I kiss our son Vitulus and daughter Taura’s forehead in the same manner and. As quietly as possible I strap my sword to my hip and shield to my back and head down to the arena to practice.
I arrive at the arena as Apollo’s chariot brings the Sun. Swinging my sword and striking into the air with exact precision, I’m numb to all surroundings. My full attention is focused on my form and connecting to where exactly I was taught. As my warm-up routine winds down I hear a soft lute playing in the background. The local musician Elegia is up early to play songs hoping to reach the Gods for protection of the soldiers ready to leave for the battle in Egypt. Leaving the arena I take deep breaths as if to take in essence of the arena as a reminder on the journey, I nod and give a soft salute to her for her songs of protection.
The next stop before I face the boat is to the local temple. As he was mentioned before, I pray to Apollo for the health and safety of Ocella, Vitulus, and Taura. I lay gold coins at his feet and a light begins to emanate from the ceiling as if a glow of recognition. May Taura grow into a beautiful woman, Vitulus be a strong man of the house and Ocella contain the strength to manage them while I’m away at war. With my respects paid the glow lowers and my mind turns to the ship where I’m required to be.
Pacing back and forth on the dock I keep the movement that shakes off the nerves of the reason this day has come. Nervousness is not strength in the eyes of my men, so I get it out of my system before they show up. In one quick breath I push it all out and turn to my men shouting, “Men, today we start our victorious journey. I wear black on this day not for the deaths of those to come, but for the lives of those who have passed before us fighting for the prosperity of the Empire; to honor them…”
So this outfit really started with the Roman helmet from the LeLutka Ultra fashion show. As soon as I saw it in the fashion show images, I knew I had to have it. Cultivating some of my resources in the RP realm, I found a few places where I could pick up some awesome items. Some of these items were actually already just sitting in my inventory that I hadn’t used yet. I hope you enjoyed the post and I’ll just hit you with the rundown. Have a great week everybody!

So…yeah I finally remembered that I have this blog thing. My life has been crazy lately, so the blog was put on the back burner for a lil’ bit. And now I’m back…with stolen items. OK sort of stolen items. Even with the crazy lifestyle I’ve been living lately, I’m still keeping up with the male blogs that I browse on my lunch time. These two looks are based around two items that I saw that I needed to get.
The first stolen item is this fantastically created jacket from Mr. Poet that I saw on the Jewnas Brothers blog. This version of the coat is the opposite version of the one that James is wearing. It reminds me of Fresh Prince of Bel Air when Will flips his blazer inside out because the paisley pattern on the inside of the coat looks cooler. I’ll let James be the cool one because he can pull off more crazy styles than I can. The next stolen piece here came from Ryan @ Men’s Second Style. After he highlighted a bunch of pieces from YV, I had to roll over there and pick them up. The textures on the accessories are fantastically created. Here I use the Victor knuckle gloves along with the Neo oversized watch. I think I’ve mentioned this before, but I’ve always been a big fan of the wide-band watches. The final stolen piece from this is the scarf from Viva La Glam. Sadly, I can’t remember who I stole this one from. I just remember seeing somebody wearing some Viva La Glam stuff and I hadn’t even realized that Chloris (the designer) had reopened her shop. I scooted my butt over there and picked up this fantastic scarf.
Now the main piece to this that I stole comes from a fantastic blog post I saw on the Le Look! blog. As soon as I saw that coat I knew I had to have it. It is a little more expensive than I thought it would be, but it’s really worth it. Not everybody can pull off this coat, so don’t go suggesting this to somebody that’s very new to SL because it’ll look very out-of-place on them. A coat like this requires the extra details that only an SLer with a good amount of experience in the fashion world can pull off. That may also speak to why the price tag is how it is. I love the soft floral touches to this coat and the flexi is put together quite well. I don’t think I stole anything else from this one other than maybe the :sey shirt that’s underneath the coat from Bronson. Although technically I already had that in my inventory, he simply reminded me that I hadn’t blogged it yet. 😉 You can’t see all of the detail of this shirt in my shot obviously, but from the little you can see it’s a great purple plaid and the black detailed edging is fantastic as well.
That’s all I’ve got for my latest post. My lifestyle is going to be getting busier, so I can’t say when the next one is coming but I will say that there will be a next one. New York’s S/S10 fashion week begins on Thursday, so you bet your bootay that I’ll be watching for those images when they come strolling through Men.Style.com, NY Mag, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, etc.

Be All You Can Be? An Army of One? Army Strong? All slogans used by the US Army for recruiting purposes. And you may ask, “What the hell does any of this have to do with me?” Well, I’ve put together a military look here of some items that have been sitting around in my inventory and one brand spanking new one that was tossed my way just the other day. Sometimes it just takes that one thing to set everything into motion and for this look it was the new Miguel skins from Belleza. As I’m sure you guys have figured out by now, I’m a darker av and don’t stray far from my deep tan. Appropriately, the tone on the skin I’m wearing for this is the Deep Tan version of the Miguel skin. You can find much more in-depth reviews of these Miguel skins done by Iustinian Tomsen here and Winter Jefferson here. I love the chest and abs on this new Miguel skin. It’s an excellent addition to Belleza’s line of skins. Keep on the look out there because the note card that came with the skins tossed my way said Miguel is the first release of five new skins coming from Belleza in the next few weeks.
Now for the next part imagine an open closet door and all sorts of clothing getting thrown out of it. That’s about what happened as this one came together. I knew I hit it right when I put on my Shit Luck Platoon tank top and then it was all downhill from there. WMD Harajuku jeans and TonkTastic short combat boots followed (c/o Dominic on SLMen). The final piece is from a really great Japanese watch place called Chronokit. Thanks to IM logs, I can give props to Madisen Tandino from the Fashion Emergency group for tipping me off to Chronokit when I was searching for a wide-band watch a while ago. The watches at Chronokit are extremely prim heavy (255 prims on this one), but also demonstrate the extreme detail by which prims show. The color scheme on them is also completely customizable via a very nice HUD. The HUD gives you 12 base color options for the watch, but then you can actually select individual colors and change them to fit whatever you’re wearing (like an army green tank top).
The final thing I want to talk about here are my aviators. The ones on me in the shots above are from SteinWerk, but I have to say that I have a pretty large collection of aviators. The reason I have such a large collection of aviators is actually because of the shape of my face in SL. I happen to have a heart-shaped face and thus it lends itself best to an aviator-style of sunglasses. This here isn’t the greatest article, but it hits home what I’m trying to say show here. So without further ado, I give you my collection of aviators:
