Sooooooo… I don’t really know what to say here. Okay here’s how this look came together… Step 1: Cut a hole in the box… wait no… Take off sailor clothes and strip to nothing. Step 2: Put your ju… dammit… Rummage through inventory and put on clothing. Step 3: Size previous clothing as most of it hasn’t been worn before.

#1 In The Hood G

Happy Sunday! And yes, I realized I missed a Sunday in there without a post. My apologies, but I had a lot going on last weekend. I’ve had so much backed up and purchased that I felt the need to throw three looks into this one. Please excuse the fact that they’re all blue, but realize that two of the three do come in a multitude of colors. Let’s hit it.

The Hood Collage

Okay, so maybe it’s 100% obvious that I didn’t shoot these in any place that would be considered the hood. I went seaside with these because two of my looks have dock shoes and those would probably look a bit awkward in a “hood” setting. All three of these hoodies are on the new-ish side and they all have different personalities that I felt when I put each of them on. Thus, let’s get into those personalities now.

Inspired :: The Sartorialist

Happy Sunday! (depending on where you live) I’m trying something slightly different than normal with this post and it will probably turn into a series of posts. I’ve had this post style in mind for a while, but never really had any others to go follow up this first one. Let me give a short little explanation here. I tend to read The Sartorialist a lot. Although it’s not really a blog for reading words so much as reading designs, patterns, and looks. I tend to have a pretty keen photographic memory, so when I strolled into Meriken a little while ago and I saw the shirt I’m wearing in this post I thought, “Oh wow that reminds exactly of a girl on The Sartorialist!” Some of my challenges in getting this look down were finding a bag that came even close to the color of hers, a quality male hair in SL that had the fierce bangs but lightly messy, and the right location to shoot it. I’m not 100% satisfied with what I came away with, but, with my limited creation skills, I think this is as close as I’m going to get:

Inspired :: Sartorialist

Let’s get into the fashion here. As I mentioned, the shirt is from Meriken and it’s the Sucker Stripe in Blue. I believe it’s an older design from Meriken, but I really love the blue and orange pattern on it and it fit so well with the look. What I really like is how the fabric design switches up diagonally when you get to the placket. It’s a fantastic little touch that makes the shirt ever so much more fashion forward. The arm prims do not actually come with the shirt, but I pulled them from a set of basic v-neck tees that Zeus Fride of Totem tossed over to me.

The other piece of the outfit here I wanted to talk about are the jeans. These are the latest to come out of machang Pichot’s Aoharu amazingness factory. She set out 2 different styles of jeans last weekend, so of course I had to run over and snag them. At first glance, I wasn’t sure if I was going to like the leg prims so I only bought one pair to try them out. As soon as the sculpties rezzed on the jeans, I knew I was going to go back and pick up fat packs, and, I know I’ve mentioned this before, Aoharu are my favorite in terms of “I don’t have to resize and only position because they fit perfectly”. Also, I almost forgot and had to come back in here to edit this. Machang redesigned the entire Aoharu island, so now all of the menswear is together in the black building (to the right of where land) and the femme clothing is in the white building (to the left). I absolutely adore her for finally doing this as it tended to be rough to sift through to find exactly where everything was. Now I’m all when I go there.

Quickies #1

Hello! Yes, I’m totally not dead at all. My blog kind of died though while I was gone, so it’s time to get out the paddles and shock this baby back to life! I decided that I needed to get back into this nice and easy. I’ve got some things that I’ve collected over the past month and a half or so that need to be shared and blogged and loved and cuddled and I just threw up a little bit of butterflies and sunshine in my mouth. I’m going to try to focus on one look at a time here, so this will all be quick hitters. I kind of just snapped out a bunch of shots of looks on the same background, so they all flow together. I would make one big post with all of them, but you’d be snoring by sentence #2 and I’d be tired of scratching my nails on the chalkboard to keep you awake.

Quickie #1

Alright I’ve given you the pow of the pic, now let’s get into it. I picked this one first because, unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, Aoharu has a 50% off sale going on right now and the sim is constantly crazy busy. The sale ends this Sunday, so get in there before the weekend begins and it’s REALLY packed. The sweater I’m wearing comes from Aoharu. I love the knit feel to it and like I mentioned in my previous post (which you don’t remember because it was so long ago and you barely read my words anyway) it’s a nice winter sweater and holiday without being IN YOUR FACE UGLY SWEATER PARTY. I also love the nice big open collar into a very trendy V-neck. I got this sweater in the fat pack from my fantastically stylish Secret Santa… Miss Whimsy Winx. Hearts and poptarts to her.

The finishing touches I put on this look are my handy dandy denim from Calypso Giano and Frampton boots from Hoorenbeek. I bought a big fat pack of classic, stonewash jeans from Calypso Giano almost a year ago and they’re still in my “go to” denim pile. Pretty much anything that I put on the top half of my body that has kind of a darkness to it, these jeans can lock in that look. The final piece of this to talk about is that I went back… I mean way back for my hair. I’m sure many of you remember this hair from Armidi. Yeah it’s The Emo One. I always loved this True Black color in the Midnight pack of hairs from Armidi. Often the jet black hair looks off when you’re wearing more Earth tone colors. This True Black has a nice tint of brown to it that gives you the exact versatility you need to cross over to that palette. I also like to bring out the classics to mix with the new hotness; like a vintage leather jacket over a new D&G shirt. I own neither of those things, but if I had the ends… you bet your sweet ass I would.

I hope you enjoyed your quick fashion hit & run for the day. I’m sure I’ll get out another one over the weekend, so check back soon.

Peace!
Oscar

69ers

Settle down pervoids. This isn’t about the sexual act. It’s about the hair store in SecondLife(tm) that seems to be drumming a lot of quality buzz in the female realm. They recently released some new female hair that I picked up on in the feed, so I did a little sleuthing and tracked back their releases on their blog to see if they had any male hair. I struck gold when I hit a blog post of theirs from August 21st. I slid on over to their store and snapped up both hairs in the 5-pack that included a black shade. You’ll find that’s the most prevalent shade I wear. Now, this is just a hunch, but I believe the name of their hair store 69 is because both Kinoko and Kumii (the hair stylists) are Japanese. Thus, 69 yielded me to believe that it is the “in yo” symbol of Japan (or more well known as the yin yang of Taoism out of China). Alright back to the fashionliciousness of this and let’s roll out of concepts that are a bit too large for me to wrap my brain around right now.

Sweetest 69

My first outfit above features the LIVE JAZZ hair from 69 in jetblack. The main item in this outfit that jumps out at everybody like it did to me is the One Way sweater from Sweetest Goodbye. It’s a very thick-knit sweater with playful zippers approximately crossing the heart. The red and yellow on this one really jumped out at me as colors that are not often put together, but when they’re hit just right they can really make an item pop. This sweater almost reminds me of an older sweater by GearShift called 8-ball which is in a burnt orange color, but this one has definitely been brought fashion forward. Coupled up with this sweater I have a newer pair of jeans from one of my favorite stores in SL, named Calypso Giano. I fell in love with a t-shirt of theirs because of how up front and in-your-face it was by the use of a little text. Also, the angel with the giant wings on the back, I thought was a really awesome graphic as well. The jeans here are the stonewashed jeans in LiaG A. I grabbed the fat pack of the jeans because I liked them that much. Within each pair of jeans you get two versions LiaG A (with your standard straight prim cuffs) and B (where the jeans are a little looser and the prims are cuffed at the bottom). The final piece of the puzzle here are the SE (special edition) version of the Hoorenbeek Davit Boots in black. The difference in this version of the Davit boots is that the stitching and edging around the boots are in red, whereas the rest of the Davit boots have stitching and edging that blends in. I bought these boots a long while ago at a Hoorenbeek party and I can’t remember exactly why they were made, but I believe the initial creation of the special edition version was for some sort of contest, where if you bought them it gave 1 vote to Hoorenbeek in the contest.

Aoharu 69ed

Moving on, I tossed together a second look with the other hair (well hat + hair combo) here from 69 appropriately entitled SCULPTURE (the hat is sculpty). What actually connects these two outfits, without the obvious connection of the hair, is that I actually saw a guy wearing the One Way sweater right after I had purchased this white shirt from Aoharu. With that amazingly wonderful tool that LL has added into the game, I inspected the collar on the sweater and away we went. Hitting rewind on the remote here, I was shopping with my gf at Aoharu and simply knew that I had to have one of these shirts and ended up buying two of them. I asked which of two colors that my gf liked and then I went and bought both of them anyway (resistance is futile). This is a very cool and collected shirt. It’s a great shirt to dress down in and the roll up of the sleeves is the icing on the cake. My favorite part about this shirt, as it is such a rare joy, I barely had to adjust the prims on my shape. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m pretty handy with the resizer scripts and stretching an item to fit, but it’s such a fantastic simple pleasure when you don’t have to do a whole lot of adjusting. Also, note that the prims attach to the forearms, so any watches worn will be taken off or will take off the prim cuffs. Anyway, this is Aoharu shirt is definitely in my top 5 of classic white shirts in SL. No shirt has stolen the crown from the semi-sheer shirt that came underneath the jacket from the Last Call Ciao Evening Suit (unfortunately no longer available in-world) yet, but we shall see what the SL future holds. Finishing off this outfit I tossed in my previously posted Shai jeans and the Hoorenbeek Docker Shoes in white leather. I’m definitely a fan of Hoorenbeek footwear, and I would suggest their shoes to anybody. Their shoe prices are on the higher side, but they’re definitely worth taking a look at.

That’s all I’ve got for this post. My next post I’m planning will be a look into a pet peeve of mine, and you know I’m going to have some fun with it. Enjoy the rest of your weeks everybody and I’ll speak at you next time when I aim for the jugular and probably end up in the popcorn machine.
