Chopper

Hello and good day! I figured I would get at least one post in here before the Christmas festivities (and then watching as many EPL games as I can throughout the next couple of weeks). I do love the wonder of Christmas, especially through the eyes of a child, though I’m not all that big of a Christmas guy. You won’t see me making a Christmas card… it’s just not me. Although, I will go chop down a tree for the family in great winter-based fashion, so let’s get into this post:

The Blues

So I know I’ve mentioned it before in previous posts, and it has definitely been noticed by friends as well (i.e. Ryan Daragh of Men’s Second Style), that I have a terrible affection for the color blue. It’s true and often I can’t shake it. Let’s get into these two looks of mine that just sort of popped up out of nowhere:

School’s Out

No words really tied to this one. Just a look I wanted to share. Lightly based off of the D&G S/S11 show with a punk rock twist.

Quickie #4

Hiooooooo I’m getting rid of the last two of these Quickie posts this week. I gotta get ’em out! Alright alright. You take this pic and you like it!!

Quickie #4

Okay, you really don’t have to like it. To be honest I’m not a huge fan of the shots I got on this one, but sheer laziness is forcing me not to take new pics. Take it or leave it! I actually have a bit to talk about on this one more than the other Quickie posts I’ve put out. The first thing we’re going to get into is the soft, lush, and comfortable feel of the black sweater from RFyre. To understand how long ago it was that I picked up this sweater, I never officially saw it until the Menswear Fashion Week which happened about a month ago. I love the cable knit pattern to this sweater and the look of it just makes it feel as if it’s nice and warm. The version of the sweater has the nice little low U-neck, but there is a turtleneck option with a prim as well as a hat and scarf that come along for the ride too. I love when a designer adds those little touches of versatility into their work that just makes an item like this so much easier to wear and to promote!

The second thing I wanted to talk about is the vest from :sey. It’s commonplace that :sey puts together a fantastic creation no matter what it is. This vest does not break that mold in the slightest; from the silky smooth feel of the fabric over the padding to each little individual toggle clasp. The vest is probably the best prim vest that I’ve ever seen so far. There have been other attempts, but I think this one from :sey just smashes ’em.

A final piece that I wanted to just mention quick here at the end are the geometric print pants from COCO Homme. Quietly COCO has put together a pretty nice menswear selection. I’ve seen pieces pop up here and there on other blogs and I’ve actually used a pair of their jeans in a previous post (that I happen to actually be wearing right now inSL). The main thing that I like about these pants is that the geometric pattern subtle, but still noticeable. My light settings on this shot make the pattern a bit more obvious than it actually is in-world because I wanted to make sure you could see the fantastic cable knit work done by RFyre on the sweater.

That’s what I’ve got people. Take it or leave it. Have a fantastic rest of your week!

The Fall Line

What up what up everybody!? I seriously should have called THIS one Lazy Blogger. I mean honestly? A month? Granted my RL has been crazy busy, so excuse me ladies and gents. Anyway, I’ve had some things building up into my inventory so it’s time let it all out. Okay, not ALL of it because I’d have way too many pictures but the highlights is good enough right? Let’s hop into it:

Lights Collage

First up here we’ve got a side-by-side of a few things that came out of the latest LeLutka collection. The left features a couple of things that I wanted to talk about. Although it’s actually underneath the huge scarf, there’s this fantastic new, sheer shirt with a lace-front neckline that looks very basic but is very well put together called Portivo. You’ll see in my future posts when I get into the Spring/Summer 2010 shows that a lot of designers got into the sheer fabrics. Essentially this trend is a bit early for the season (for the northern hemisphere), but that’s why threw the big ol’ scarf from The Dogs onto it to keep it warm. The second look up there is also another LeLutka pick. I really dig the light blue going on with this jacket and the tie around the waist really made me want to snag this coat because I don’t really have anything else like it. Draping over the top again is a much smaller, but very nice blue scarf from the new LeLutka collection as well. I don’t know if you know this, but…I’m kind of a big fan of denim. The jeans in this first pic are awesome from Arai. They’ve got a great color to them with a little sandblasting down the front and they’re just an amazing pair of easy-breezy everyday jeans. The other shot features a pair of jeans that are actually way cheap; I mean L$50 cheap from PixelDolls. What I really like about them is that they’re an older pair of jeans that still holds their own fashionably with rolled cuffs that a lot of designers were dropping on the runways.

Darks Collage

The look at the dark side of fall here features a couple of different designers out there. Starting on the left we’ve got this fantastically put-together coat from Argrace with a nice v-neck brown sweater underneath from IZUMIYA and a great pair of jeans from COCO. We first got to see some real menswear from COCO in the form of a pair of shoes that showed up during one of the CSR stamps events. In a somewhat recent trip with a friend to COCO for the shirts that wrap around your waist, I noticed that there was a growing selection of menswear to be had at COCO. I bought more than I probably should have, per always, but from what I’ve worn I have not been disappointed in the slightest. One of the interesting things about these jeans that I thought was very well done is how the seam sort of crosses over the front of the leg on the sculpted bottoms and the texture on the jeans follows suit perfectly. The look on the right shows a very nice homage to the Where The Wild Things Are movie. Now I know you’re saying, “IT’S NOT EXACT TO THE MOVIE!” Personally, I love the twist on it and how it’s more of the Wild Things than it is of Max’s official costume. I also love how it gives you that feel of fur without the 400 prims that go into say a boa.

A final thing of note throughout all of these looks is the hair I’m wearing in 3 of the 4 of them. The over-the-eyes sort of wispy hair comes from CheerNo Destiny. To be honest, I felt like originally that a lot of his hairstyles were just way too editorial for me to even try to pull off. I don’t have that sort of bleeding edge fashion sense and that’s not really my style, but when I came across three new hairstyles from CheerNo I knew I had to pick them up after trying on the demos. The blacks set that I always get are pretty good, but to be honest the brown textures for his hair are pretty awesome.

That pretty much wraps up what I’ve got for this one. I have a few things from SL still to blog and then I plan on hitting up all of the Spring/Summer 2010 images and bringing you some of my favorite looks. Adios muchachos y te veo pronto.

Duality

Alright, I’ve done this before and I’m bringing it back again. I’ve got two looks today that are on opposite sides of the spectrum. The first look I have for you is one that I’ve been mulling over since I saw a pretty big fashion show that COCO was in. Then Bronson Twine made a post that pushed me over the edge to really go check this out. I know I say it a lot, but this designer really knows her color.

Duality - Chill

Everything cocoro Lemon puts out has really vibrant and welcoming color. The intention of her designs are for the female persuasion, but there are a select few things that can be taken as unisex. Definitely the wrap-around-waist shirts can be worn as a great accessory and the over-the-shoulder sweaters can be added to a nice preppy look. Personally, I went for this fantastic blue and white striped shirt. I went for it because it reminds me of an American Eagle shirt that I bought when I worked there. It’s still in my closet somewhere…or in the basement because it’s a laundry weekend. Anyway, I think Bronson’s and my post here should be used as batman symbols on the sky for COCO to start thinking about guys. 😉

Duality - Work

Speaking of work before, my second look actually follows along those same lines, but not in the same direction. There’s a girl that works in my office who definitely knows her fashion and is on top of her fashion game. Earlier this week she had a black & red lumberjack shirt, black skinny jeans, and some calf-height boots on that the jeans tucked into. I decided to take that look, put some male perspective on it, and present it to you guys. The black & red checked shirt was actually the first thing that sparked up memory. I was searching down a shirt I saw on Naith Smit in one of his Flickr shots a couple of weeks ago. I found out that it was from sey, but when I got to it I wasn’t sure if I really had a look that could go with any of the colors that sey provided. Then, I saw my coworker and it lit right up in my head how I could incorporate it with some of my regular clothing. By regular I mean some of the designers and items that I tend to use a lot on here. I’m a creature of habit and when I find things that I really like or are perfect for me, you’ll see them a lot on here.

For those of you readers in the USA, enjoy the long weekend! I know I will because I’m taking an extra day on Tuesday. 😉 Oh! And a head’s up for you guys & gals reading this. I’ll probably have all of the images gathered for a round-up of F/W09 by the end of next week. I’ll drop all of that on you guys some time in the next 2 or 3 weeks.
