Sooooooo… I don’t really know what to say here. Okay here’s how this look came together… Step 1: Cut a hole in the box… wait no… Take off sailor clothes and strip to nothing. Step 2: Put your ju… dammit… Rummage through inventory and put on clothing. Step 3: Size previous clothing as most of it hasn’t been worn before.

Lazy Blogger

Why hello! Hey, what’s this blog thing about? I’m still a serial shopper in SL, I just haven’t had much time to stop and write about some of the stuff that I’ve picked up. While typing this out, I bought 3 hairs from CheerNo. Thankfully, my kickball tournament I was supposed to play in yesterday got pushed to next weekend and the Green Bay Packers have a bye week and don’t play today. 😉 Alright alright, enough about the craziness of my RL, let’s hit you with the first one:

Lazy Blogger #1

The first thing I need to talk about is the reopening of Lookr. Adam Soler and Fayne Khandr have taken a bold direction with their new business. The first and most obvious is that they’re focusing solely on creating t-shirts. No more suits, pants, jeans, button-up shirts, etc. Also if you go to their website, you can shop for you or your avatar. The “Shop For You” button actually takes you to a webpage where you can buy the Lookr designs on actual t-shirts. The other main bold direction they explained in a notecard sent out to bloggers. Here’s some direct text from the notecard where they explain:

Another change we’re making is that from our reopening, we will be donating 15% of all our sales to charity. We’re supporting the A21 Campaign – you can find out more information here: http://www.thea21campaign.org/ (please note, the site contains information on human trafficking that you may find disturbing).

It’s truly a noble cause and definitely something that will make you realize that even though you’re buying a very nice t-shirt, you’re also indirectly donating to a truly noble cause.

Next up we’ve got a look that I just sort of tossed together. What sort of sparked this look sort of came from two different subscribe-o-matic (s-o-m) groups. #1 Naith Smit put out a notice to his s-o-m group about his Team Kanye shirts. I noticed that in the ad he put together for the shirts that he had some excellent jeans on. Low and behold just to my left in his store, there were the jeans, so I picked ’em up in a couple of colors and I’m showing the black ones here. #2 zippir Kayo who used to run the :::LINE::: store announced to her s-o-m group that she was joining forces with the King For Men store. Her notice reminded me that I haven’t actually been to King For Men in a long time, so I stopped in to see what he had going on and what new products he had added since my last visit. The sweater here is called Spur and I really liked the checked pattern that he put to it. Also, I thought it was cool how the checked pattern fades towards the bottom of the garment.

Lazy Blogger #3

Last, but certainly not least here I tossed together a couple of outfits with a couple of great cardigans that I picked up along the way. The first, which I picked up in a few colors, is the relax knit sweater from Argrace. I really like how the name of relax knit sweater really describes the sweater to a T. The sweater gives you that lazy weekend J. Crew feel to it. The fact that it’s loosely buttoned and the sleeves are pushed, rather than strategically rolled up, adds to that description. Draping over the top of it is this fantastic scarf from The Dogs. I actually already owned the black and white version of this scarf, when I saw a red one on a KMadd shape ad for their Kanye shape. Again back to Kanye, he’s permeating the SL world with his shenanigans. Now that I think about it, the scarf would work pretty well with those Naith Smit jeans from the Kanye ad he had as well. The other cardigan I have on here to the right is another relaxed one from Laqroki. In the same sort of situation as the King For Men one, I just hadn’t checked out Laqroki’s clothing in a long time and I thought I’d stop by to check if they had anything new out or maybe just something that I saw before but it never piqued my interest. This cardigan falls in the “something that I saw before” category. Something about it caught my eye this time and I had to pick it up. I think it mainly caught my eye because of a Missoni sweater that I talked about from the F/W09 shows. The pattern is a LOT less busy, but it still has that same sort of feel and the shawl collars are very similar.

That’s everything I took pictures of so far. I may be able to sneak away some time and get a post up next weekend, but the week is packed ladies and gents. No promises. Enjoy your week everybody and stay fashionable.

The Hangover

Alright, I got the RL fashion out of the way. To be honest, I love RL fashion shows and the trends because it’s a lot like the scene in The Devil Wears Prada, where Meryl Streep goes through the steps of how one fashion decision from the shows rolls down through the entire line of the retail industry. I take that concept to the world(s) I live in and my lifestyle. I look at the shows to see what elements I can use toward myself both RL and SL (a navy shawl-collar blazer where the breast is prim would be amazing). It also helps keep you in tune with new things coming through, like how a multitude of retailers have plaid shirts where the pattern switches diagonally on the front pockets. But okay, this is supposed to break me out of the hangover with all of those previous RL fashion posts and move me to my SL fashion posts. So as the Black Eyed Peas once said, “Let’s get it started in here!”

Khaki Collage

We’ll start you off here with the khaki collection. While I was getting drunk on RL fashion, there were a lot of really cool items being put out by SL fashion designers. The first here on the left are the chino’s from Zaara in khaki. I bought these in a couple of color and I really like the way that the hand-created texture was crafted. The other main speaking point on this look is the tie with diagonal plaid pattern. I really like this tie that comes with the shirt from Emery. On the right here we’ve got a look I put together using a sweater that I saw, laughed at its reminiscence to Duck Hunt, and totally had to buy. It’s the Cowichan sweater from NoaR and it’s absolutely awesome. A lot of the time with a thicker av like I have it’s hard to wear these sweaters/shirts with the prim bottom to them, but the way the sculpted bottom is created it actually fits my av pretty well. Also in this look I used these Whippet & Buck Harris Tartan shorts. They come in a variety of colors (8 if memory serves me correctly) and they’re all very well crafted. I especially like how the sculpted ends of the shorts are creased.

Blues Collage

Next up we’ll be playin’ the blues. This first look is the latest (last I knew) release from Jamie Holmer of Indi Designs. I don’t know how many of you did the Make Him Over Hunt, but personally I thought that hands-down Jamie put out the best item in that entire hunt. If there were a voting booth for which freebie was the best from that entire hunt, I do not doubt that she would’ve won. I did a couple of things to this blue version of her Aaron outfit that altered it a bit from what she initially intended. The easiest thing I did was I put on the shirt cuffs for the white shirt with the blue shirt. I like that sort of contrast at the end of the shirt, so adding the cuffs from the white shirt was a pretty easy alteration. The other thing I did is a little more complicated. The tie in this outfit is actually more of a wide tie. Personally, I haven’t found any excellent skinny ties in SL and it happens that the permissions on this tie allow you to mod it. Obviously, I strongly advise that you make a copy before you start to play with prims and the “Stretch Both Sides” feature in SL is great for resizing things. So I took this tie in a bit as well as made the knot a smaller in conjunction with the tie and made the wide tie into a skinny tie and I like the way it came out. Coming back again in the second blues look is pretty much a full set from Whippet & Buck. The crispness of the colors in all of their clothing almost reminds of something like the RL brand Ralph Lauren. They’re so striking and clean that they really pierce through in crowd. Again I used the Harris Tartan shorts and this time I used the Gavin Bold Strip Jumper in the marina set of colors. Putting the final touches on this look again comes from NoaR with their Whiteshirt + Vest combo. I didn’t need the vest, but it’s a great shirt to have when you feel like the fully open v-neck is showing just a bit too much.

Greys Collage

Finishing off this post here we’ve got a couple of outfits from SF Designs. ((random story of olden SL)) So way back in the day when I was first starting out in SL, I had a friend tp me into this all male clothing mall. These were pioneers that put together this male mall and it was the first of its kind. I was poking around and saw an Arsenal (English Premier League Football team) jersey up on the wall that I wanted to buy. When I right-clicked to buy it, for some reason it wasn’t letting me. I noticed that when I hovered my mouse over it, that there was no price on the box. I sent swafette Firefly an IM telling her that her box at the store wasn’t set to sale and that I’d like to buy the Arsenal jersey from her. She responded to me a few hours later and gave me the shirt for free. It was my first supreme customer service experience in SL and I will never forget it. ((/random story of olden SL)) To the clothing! On the left we have the Performance suit. The amount of options is pretty crazy on this look. You can wear it with the collar and tie open, everything closed up and tied up, and everywhere in between. Plus, it comes with different sizes on just about every prim part so you’re bound to find one that’s spot on or requires only minor prim adjustments. Last, but certainly not least is something that I saw and I knew I had to have. It’s the only prim, shawl-collar sweater that I know of in all of SL. I was a little skeptical about buying the whole outfit just because I wanted the shawl-collar sweater so badly, but my urges overtook me…and I’m kind of glad they did. The sculpt on the collar is very well made and easily adjustable. Other pieces of note in this look are the GT shades and the Nightstalker watch. I love how the shades are pretty much connected aviators. I’ve mentioned before about my affection for aviators. My purchase of these is just another one of the effects of my affection. I’m also an avid fan of wide-band watches and I really like the clean lines on this watch. Oh! I almost forgot the hair! The hairstyle is called Slide from MADesigns and all colors of it are 100% free! I was very thankful for that considering I did break the bank putting all of this together. It’s time to pay a visit to the Linden fairy. 🙂

So there’s the SL fashion that you’ve been missing and I’ve been missing too. ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED!?…or something? The RL fashion hangover is almost complete. Check the rundown below for the details and I’ll have the soundtrack together shortly.

Duality

Alright, I’ve done this before and I’m bringing it back again. I’ve got two looks today that are on opposite sides of the spectrum. The first look I have for you is one that I’ve been mulling over since I saw a pretty big fashion show that COCO was in. Then Bronson Twine made a post that pushed me over the edge to really go check this out. I know I say it a lot, but this designer really knows her color.

Duality - Chill

Everything cocoro Lemon puts out has really vibrant and welcoming color. The intention of her designs are for the female persuasion, but there are a select few things that can be taken as unisex. Definitely the wrap-around-waist shirts can be worn as a great accessory and the over-the-shoulder sweaters can be added to a nice preppy look. Personally, I went for this fantastic blue and white striped shirt. I went for it because it reminds me of an American Eagle shirt that I bought when I worked there. It’s still in my closet somewhere…or in the basement because it’s a laundry weekend. Anyway, I think Bronson’s and my post here should be used as batman symbols on the sky for COCO to start thinking about guys. 😉

Duality - Work

Speaking of work before, my second look actually follows along those same lines, but not in the same direction. There’s a girl that works in my office who definitely knows her fashion and is on top of her fashion game. Earlier this week she had a black & red lumberjack shirt, black skinny jeans, and some calf-height boots on that the jeans tucked into. I decided to take that look, put some male perspective on it, and present it to you guys. The black & red checked shirt was actually the first thing that sparked up memory. I was searching down a shirt I saw on Naith Smit in one of his Flickr shots a couple of weeks ago. I found out that it was from sey, but when I got to it I wasn’t sure if I really had a look that could go with any of the colors that sey provided. Then, I saw my coworker and it lit right up in my head how I could incorporate it with some of my regular clothing. By regular I mean some of the designers and items that I tend to use a lot on here. I’m a creature of habit and when I find things that I really like or are perfect for me, you’ll see them a lot on here.

For those of you readers in the USA, enjoy the long weekend! I know I will because I’m taking an extra day on Tuesday. 😉 Oh! And a head’s up for you guys & gals reading this. I’ll probably have all of the images gathered for a round-up of F/W09 by the end of next week. I’ll drop all of that on you guys some time in the next 2 or 3 weeks.

McEnroe

Ladies and gents…this started a while ago, a long while ago to be exact. It was around the time of the Shoe Expo back in July and I had just been turned on to a hair from Gritty Kitty by one Iustinian Tomsen. In my shopping for the aforementioned hair I came across another hair at Gritty Kitty that I just could not pass. After promptly slapping the new wig up top my head it hit me. I’m going to toss together a John McEnroe/80s tennis pro look. Thus, I went to the Shoe Expo dressed up in my John McEnroe outfit. I’ve thought about doing the John McEnroe look before, but my problem was that I didn’t have the items to do it. The original John McEnroe look had mini boxers from a, now long gone, discount Naughty Designs store and the socks came from Last Call’s “Right Said” outfit. Well, not too long before I ventured into the RL fashion arena I got a review package from one Dice Beattie of “Roll the Dice”. He gave me some gym shorts and it reignited my McEnroe outfit like you wouldn’t believe. The Australian Open (it’s one of the four tournaments in the “grand slam” of tennis) finishes up tomorrow with Roger Federer vs. Rafa Nadal and I just couldn’t let that pass before I got into this. Without further ado, I give you the McEnroe story…

McEnroe Storyboard #1

Eying up his opponent’s position on the court he mentally spins the wheel that holds his arsenal of serves and stops it like a well informed game of Russian roulette. He bounces the tennis ball up to his hands twice before it releases off of his fingertips up toward the sunny sky. Uncorking like a gun’s hammer he sends the ball screaming off the top of the net and out with judges calling out "LET!" and "FAULT!" He lets out a half smile as if he knew that ball was going to rub the outside service line clear off of the court. The Russian roulette begins again, but this time lands in a much safer spot as this is the second serve for match point. Two bounces and the ball is back up into the air. He slams through the ball with a much lighter top spin than the first serve to ensure it makes it over the net clean. Using the momentum of the serve he takes a couple of steps into the court before his eyes widen as his opponent sets up his body to slide in a drop shot toward the center of the court hoping to catch him off guard. With a flick of the wrist the ball lofts with the back spin and he begins to approach the net to make sure he sets himself up in excellent position after his next shot. He slightly puts too much on his returning drop shot and leaves his opponent with the advantage he was after. A light mental cursing about his short game aside, his opponent lobs a shot over his head to the back corner. Thankfully quickness needs no practice and he runs down the lob as it bounces quite high.

McEnroe Storyboard #2

Reaching back to release the hammer again, he follows through with all of his force and a light grunt with all of the raw force that he threw into that ball. The yellow fuzz holds on for dear life as it flies down the line from the forehand, and his surprised opponent reels to get to the corner. Fortunately, his opponent left his quickness at home today because he barely gets to the ball and flails his arm out laying up a bunny for him to simply put away and finish this match. Jumping up into the air to finish this match in style, the ball sails a little wider than he would have liked but it’s definitely going to stay in. As it hits he turns to the crowd and the cyclops (line judge) yells, “OUT!” He turns with fury in his eyes and screams at the umpire, “THAT WAS IN! ARE YOUR JUDGES FREAKING BLIND!? HOW COULD THEY NOT SEE THAT WAS IN!?” In a childish fit he throws his racket clear across the court and then punts the bended frame back over toward his bag. Reaching into his bag, he picks out another racket and continues on his quest to finish his opponent. He thinks to himself, “If you thought the first serve was fast, just wait until I unleash the rage into this serve….”

Summertime Blues

It’s Sept 2nd and summer has left the building for those of us in the northern hemisphere. Now we look forward to fall. Even though the winter here in Wisconsin was as rough as it has ever been (record snowfalls all over the place), I’m actually kind of looking forward to a crisp fall evening. This summer will be missed though and as Eddie Cochran would tell you “there ain’t no cure for the summertime blues.” To honor this summer, I bring you a last grasp of summer blues.

I’ll work left to right here as my outfits flow that way. The first outfit I have kicking there is mostly from Casa del Shai. I picked up that the semi-sheer Mallory shirts were out via SL Style, and recently Shai herself tossed my way a pair of her scruffy jeans in Bruno to give her a little feedback. I strolled by her store to see if I could find something lighter and saw that she had a total of 6 pairs out. For this outfit I voted for Pedro (the name of the jeans), and I didn’t even have to do a flippin’ sweet dance to Jamiroquai’s “Canned Heat”. Finishing off this first outfit is a shirt that I randomly came across. Though I’m not a huge fan of “shopping districts”, I love it when I’m in one specifically to check out a store that I pick up on from a blog…and happen to come upon another store that has some really cool stuff. That would be the case with this Vintage Mexican Skull tee from OutsiderZ. The overall feel and multiple locations of the store suggest an alternative lifestyle. I’m definitely feeling it and will keep watching for what Shian Handrick comes out with next.

The second outfit is a taste of Sartoria. I’m really a big fan of what Sartoria has cooking. Instead of the alternative feel, this is more of something that you would see on a yacht racing across the Mediterranean. Appropriately, the store is officially named La Sartoria di traveller Bade (that’s Italian people). Here you see the Racing Zip jacket paired up with the Riva dress slacks in Light Linen. Sartoria offers up the items separately, but, instead of the Riva dress slacks, you can get the Racing Zip along with a pair of Chino white pants as a set at Strider’s Mens Shop as SARTORIA ITALIANA Outfit 08 for L$250 (a savings of L$70 if you were to buy the items separately). Also in this outfit would be the Redgrave sneakers in white. These are a fantastically sculpted pair of sneakers by Emilia Redgrave. Thanks to the fantastic customer service provided by Emilia, I got these shoes in two sizes before she began offering them in the box in two sizes. I must not have been the only one asking. 😉

The third and final outfit of this group holds most of the elements I’ve already talked about, but thrown into the mix this time is a classic shirt from Laqroki. It’s offered in 10 different colors, but to go along with the group here it’s in a wonderful blue dubbed Chill. It comes with a prim collar bare, with white tie, and with a black tie. This shirt is truly a versatile piece of work where it works to dress it up with a tie or dress it down with a pair of jeans. You should also notice a hair change. A while back when Donovan Brennen of GearShift released some hoodies, and as a supplemental purchase you could buy a “half-hair” called Jute from Philotic Energy. Back then I sent a random IM to Aemilia Case, telling her she should create a full hair based on Jute. I was poking around in Philotic Energy the other day and asked if Aemilia’s hair Rhodri was the full hair of Jute. Well, it turns out that my eyes did not deceive me. This is an excellent hairstyle and the amount of colors that Aemilia offers is pretty amazing. I strongly suggested you get over to Philotic Energy and check out what Aemilia has up there in a new store setup in the sky as it’s no longer on the ground.

And now for something completely different…

I continue to be under the impression that June Dion has trained helper monkeys help her create as much as she does in SL. It’s really refreshing to know that every single time you walk into BareRose Tokyo that you’re going to find a deal on some high quality fantasy garb. This one is Aquarius from a series of astrological figures that she created. Aquarius is the water carrier and as shown this outfit is filled with sculpties to demonstrate a more futuristic way that Aquarius would transport that water. The attention to detail in this series of outfits is really amazing and at the price of L$160…it’s amazing.

That about sums it up for my Summertime Blues collection. Hopefully you can add some of these elements to accentuate the lighter side of your style and keep on stepping up that game (even if that game is amazing fantasy clothing). Also, here’s an update from Mina Firefly herself on the tribal facial tat. She’s looking to get her items setup on SLexchange very soon. When she does, I’ll update everything to send you directly to where you can buy her tats. Thanks for reading everybody.

Peace, love, and respect,

Oscar

And suits so fine they make Sinatra look like a hobo…

John Coltrane – My Favorite Things

Okay so maybe my suits aren’t as fantastic as that of Ron Burgundy or Ol’ Blue Eyes, but this is a selection of my favorite suits in ALL of my virtual closet. I’ll give you my most classic and iconic suits that I’ve collected over my years in this fantastic world of SecondLife™, and you’ll get these in chronological order. My favorite dress shoes will be sprinkled throughout these shots, but I’ll give you the skinny on those at the tail end here. I’m not much for hype, so let’s get into this…

#1 Musashi Do ~ Nottingham Winter ~ L$250 (slurl)

Acquired: December 13, 2004

**checking on current availability of watch**
Shades: Armidi Gisaci – Lifestyle Aviators – Silver L$325
Shoes: Shiny Things – Spencers in Brown L$325
Hair: Armidi – The Grammar in Chocolat L$295 (4-pack)
Skin: FNKY! Antonio Dark – Clean Shaven L$1,850 single (L$3,000 pack)

This suit is the oldest suit in my entire inventory and I clearly remember buying this suit. I really felt like I needed to step up my game. I had barely dabbled in fashion back then as I was n00bled with a basic hair afro that only makes its way out with the 70’s novelty Travolta Suit from Shai (and hair pick my fantastic former friend Inez Angelus made for me). That being said…no I will not show you any pictures of my afro. Alright, enough history back to the suit. Despite its age this suit has a whole lot of pop in it. When I put on this suit again to shoot it, I felt a great sense of pride. That pride is rooted in actually having the tools in my closet today that can really demonstrate how amazing and put-together this suit was. The shoes, skin, and hair really unlock the potential that always resided in this deep blue suit. Do yourself a favor and stop by Musashi Do to pick this suit up. You won’t regret it and for the price you really can’t.

#2 DE Designs ~ DE After 5 Tux in Silver ~ L$500 (slurl)

Acquired: December 26, 2005

** Cartier Tank Francaise watch no longer available in-world that I know of**
Glasses: Damani – TopRim Glasses L$70
Ring: Blue Stone – Mens Black Onyx & Diamond Ring L$250
Shoes: Shiny Things – City Walk Shoes – Black L$300
Hair: Armidi – The Grammar in Midnight II L$295 (5-pack)
Skin: The Abyss – Scorpio_Osiris 1(C) Smooth L$2,000 single (L$4,800 set)

The story behind the After 5 Suit from DE Designs is not all that long, but, as noted by the date acquired, has lasted a very long time. This suit is essentially an upgrade to my suits that I would always wear to weddings in SL. My original suit that I’d always wear to weddings was from DFO and at this time I decided that it was again time to step up my game. This is the best wedding-capable suit that I have in my inventory and to this day I still get IM’s about this suit…even when I’m in Blaze right before a ceremony for a friend and looking to see what suits Mr. Columbia had available. I literally laughed out loud when the IM “Hey I’m shopping for a suit for my bf. Where did you get your suit?” came in. It also gives me a nice segue into my next suit.

#3 Blaze ~ Men’s Power Suit in Charcoal ~ L$500 (slurl)

Acquired: March 17, 2007

Shades: Armidi Gisaci – Lifestyle Aviators – Silver L$325
Shoes: JCS (Jeepers Creepers) – H&H Black Oxfords L$200
Hair: Naughty – Modern Edge in Black Pearl L$300 (3-pack)
Skin: FNKY! Antonio Dark – Baby Face Soul L$1,850 single (L$3,000 set)

Who says men don’t like options? Personally, I’m a huge fan of options. Although, to put it in man terms, think of it as a pair of reversible shorts. Same item, but multiple usage. I mean this suit comes packed with stuff. You get 4 different base shirts (biz blue, black, charcoal, white) and 11 ties (black, blue, gold, green, lavender, mauve, peach, red, turquoise, white, yellow). Needless to say your mix and match possibilities are really endless. Some of the hues of the ties won’t work with some of the shirts, but that’s straight up my opinion by what I see with how the tie melds with the rest of the suit. Also, I’m not a huge fan of the skirt layer for suit jackets as I am a larger av. More often than not you have to make it so poofy that it ends up looking like a parachute even with a size 0 butt. Overall I think Blaze executed the skirt layer quite well on this suit jacket. It’s much better than most other suits that I’ve gotten with the skirt layer on the jacket. I think it would be a fantastic to have the ability to use a long jacket layer OR a skirt layer. That way it would cater to all shapes and sizes so much better. Even with that, the options on this suit largely outweigh any skirt layer issues. It’s a fantastic suit.

#4 *Shai* ~ The Luna Suit ~ L$600 (slurl)

Acquired: June 26, 2007

**Cartier Tank Francaise watch and Last Call BIshonen Men’s Dog Tags no longer available in-world**
Shoes: Shiny Things – Spencers in Brown L$325
Hair: Gritty Kitty – Czech Mate in Black L$130 (single)
Skin: FNKY! Antonio Dark – Baby Face Soul L$1,850 single (L$3,000 set)

Oh the Shai Luna suit…I can’t explain how amazing it felt when I slipped into this. As soon as this suit rezzed on me I was amazed with it. It was the first time I felt a true air of confidence simply by the clothes I was wearing. Immediately I told people about how I felt like Rusty, the supremely confident and put-together character that Brad Pitt played in all of the Ocean’s Eleven movies. It’s that classic cool that is unmatchable by anything in the entire world. Of this collection of my favorites, I’m extremely partial to this one. Shai does such an amazing job on the textures of this suit. I had already purchased my fantastic Travolta suit and the Adulterer suit from Shai, but this was really a designer’s “coming out party” for Shai. She really blew up on the male fashion scene when this suit hit the shelves and I really can’t see why she wouldn’t. Shai! <3!

#5 Styles of Edo ~ Flannel Suit L$200 + Shirt & Tie Rp L$68 (slurl)

Acquired: July 22, 2007

Shades: Armidi Gisaci – Lifestyle Aviators – Silver L$325
Shoes: JCS (Jeepers Creepers) – H&H Black Oxfords L$200
Hair: Armidi – The Law in Midnight II L$295 (5-pack)
Skin: FNKY! Antonio Dark – Baby Face Soul L$1,850 single (L$3,000 set)

In this shot here…I feel like its a cross between businessman and mobster. I really like this suit’s classic lines. The amount of options that are available for this suit are comparable to that of the Blaze Power Suit. I say that because on the wall (currently upstairs) at Styles of Edo there is an abundance of shirts and tie combos for L$68. Personally, I stylized this with the purple shirt and funky tie because I felt like I had to throw a little texture at this one. This is most definitely applicable in a RL sense as well. To liven up a suit that feels pretty basic and flat, all you need to do is add just a hint of spice to it like a funky tie, a shirt with some low shine to it or, if available, even a pocket square in a bright color that lights up your personality a little. (btw both suits sandwiching this one have pocket squares…go figure) Where’s my straight eye for the straight guy show? 😉

#6 Redgrave ~ Black Striped Suit L$850 (slurl)

Acquired: September 8, 2007

**Again watch no longer available in-world that I know of**
Shades: Armidi Gisaci – Lifestyle Aviators – Silver L$325
Ring: Blue Stone – Mens Black Onyx & Diamond Ring L$250
Shoes: Shiny Things – Spencers in Black L$325
Hair: Aitui – Sleepwalk Hair in Black L$225
Skin: FNKY! Antonio Dark – Baby Face Soul L$1,850 single (L$3,000 set)

The last, but certainly not least, favorite suit I have to give you would be the Redgrave Black Striped suit. I’m not going to BS you about this. I really wavered as to whether I should buy this suit or not because of the price tag. Don’t get me wrong, this suit is really amazing, but maybe it’s just in my blood that I’m a little on the cheap side when it comes down to actually throwing down the L$ for something. The quality of this suit is undeniable and I think that’s what drove me to buying it despite its price tag. This suit simply exudes excellence with its clean pinstripes. It almost feels like a casual suit for Sammy Davis, Jr. updated to fit today’s fashion standards. It also comes with a buttoned-up shirt as well if you’d like to close it up and make it more formal, but I love a good casual suit.

Finally, the shoes that I dig the most. I know that there are a lot of dress shoes out there good and bad, but here are my favorites. These shoes have stood up to the test for every situation where I have needed to wear a suit and never faltered. The Spencers from Shiny Things are the best to work the dressy casual angle and the other three tend to lean toward the dressier side of the scale.

L to R: Shiny Things – City Walk in Black + Brown, Shiny Things – Spencers Black + Brown, Jeepers Creepers – H&H Black Oxfords

I really hope that this post was helpful to those of you out there searching for a quality suit. I stand behind every single one of these suits that I showed you guys today. There are more suits in my inventory that I’d love to show, but I really had to limit myself to 6 here. If I wrote about them all, you’d all go crazy at how long this post is. That is if you’re not even reading this because you stopped reading already. lol Other notable suits that were not pictured or mentioned in this post would be Simone’s Carl Suit in Olive and the Blaze Regal Tux – Special Edition. This is what I’ve got and what you can look forward to in my posts. May your second lives be brighter and more fashionable!
